Kota Community

A sub caste of the Brahmins, we hail from the Kundapur and surrounding areas of Udupi district in Karnataka. Originally from the northern part of India, we migrated to Karnataka centuries ago. Dr. Shivaram Karant(Jnanapeetha award winner) who hailed from Saligrama of Udupi taluk belongs to our community.
